As most Smart Home enthusiasts know Phillips Hue won’t let you use more than one Hue Bridge with Google Home and thats a big Problem if you exuccede the pretty low capacity of the hue bridge
First of all let me explay how the original Phillips Hue Google Home integration works. You Acctually don’t connect your Hue Bridge to Google Home, instead you register your Bridge to your to your Hue Account.
Here the inconvenience beginns. You are only able to connect one Bridge to your Account and that Account gets Linked with Google Home, where you are also limited to one Hue Account. So until Hue or Google lift their restrictions we need to find a way to bypass this nonsense
Since i run a Home Assistant instantce in my Network and since it is possible to connect Home Assistant to Google Home I thaught about trying not to connect the Phillips Hue Bridge directly to Google Home, but instead connect all Bridges to Home Assistant and then forward all Entities to Google Home via Home Assistant Cloud
After that all my Hue Lights are visible in Google Home. I choose groupe my Lights in Home Assistant and only forward those to Google Home to reduce the amount of lights and direclty group them for easier voice comands
e.g.:
you have a lamp with 3 hue lightbulbs. Google Home Will display all three Lightbulbs as lamps
with Home Assistant you only forward the entitygroup “Lamp” and Google Home will only display the “Lamp” while maintaining Control over all three Lightbulbs
